A Change of Focus
This is quite different from my normal methods of photography.
I found a metal post in the dark holding up some barbed wire and focused on this rather than on the stars. at 24mm (widest setting) I was able to capture diffused points of light from the Milky Way behind the fence post.
This taught me that turning your attention and focus to something aside from the obvious can give a welcome change in perspective.

How this photo was taken

The location this photo was taken from is displayed in this map.
This was a stacked photograph of over 20 minutes exposure using a 35mm lens and tripod on the 19th of May 2020. I hiked up the hill onto salisbury plain from where I was staying from about 1:30am to 3am to watch the Milky Way rise.
